TRACK & FIELD TRAINING
This linear speed training program is designed specifically for track and field athletes aged 9–17, focusing on developing proper sprinting mechanics, acceleration, and top-end speed.
The program progresses through three age groups - 9–12, 13–15, and 16–17 - with each stage tailored to the physical and developmental needs of the athletes.
Younger athletes work on fundamental movement skills, coordination, and body awareness through fun, low-intensity drills. As they mature, the program introduces more structured sprint technique training, including acceleration mechanics, plyometrics, and light resistance work. For older athletes, advanced sprint drills, sprint-specific strength training, and speed endurance are emphasized to enhance performance.
Each session includes a dynamic warm-up, acceleration drills, top-speed mechanics, plyometric exercises, starting block training, and a cooldown. The focus remains on proper form, gradual progression, and injury prevention, with an emphasis on building confidence and consistency. Coach uses positive reinforcement, video feedback, and timed sprints to monitor progress.
This program promotes long-term athletic development, creating a strong foundation for success in track and field sprints and other speed-dependent sports.
